Cygwin installation is slightly more complicated. Full distribution of Cygwin contains many useful utilities but also uses great amount of drive space (around 600MB). Since for many applications same binaries are used on many processors, even compliers are not needed on all of the computers. A minimal distribution of Cygwin can be used. This distribution must contain a shell and inetd to work correctly. Inetd package contains remote call services. Packages that these depend on must be included.
After Cygwin installation, PVM must be compiled under Cygwin. Most recent distribution of PVM has some minor problems that causes build under Cygwin fail. A working build can be found in the t-lab homepage.
